BOBBY WILLIAMS
Hello.
Thank you for visiting my site. I am an artist currently living in the Santa Ynez Valley, just north of Santa Barbara, on the central coast of California. I was born in Northern California, but raised in a small, southwest Missouri town. I was always prone to daydreaming and had a vivid imagination that compelled me to create art from a very young age.
Though I attended art school for a few years upon graduating from high school, I never finished my degree. Another passion of mine, hospitality, led me to the Culinary Institute of America in upstate New York. From there, I spent my twenties and early thirties working in fine-dining as a captain and sommelier- the apex of my hospitality career being the opportunity to work as a sommelier in a three Michelin star restaurant in New York City. My passion for wine is what eventually led me here to the central coast, where I currently work in estate wine sales. Transitioning away from restaurant and hotel operations has allowed me the free time to more seriously pursue a career as an artist.
I dabbled in many different art forms when I was younger- including ceramics, sculpture, murals, graphic design, and mixed media. However, my true passion is painting. I have been producing and selling paintings regularly for the last fifteen years, while balancing a demanding career on the side. I transitioned to oil painting from acrylics about four years ago and have immersed myself in classic oil painting techniques. It's been a thrilling and humbling experience to push myself as an artist and to be rewarded by so many passionate patrons.
